Mr. L. Seidel produced his motorcycles under the name Franzani Motorwerke GmbH in Schwabenstrasse 51, Nürnberg, Germany. 1923, Franzani designed his own 298cc two-stroke and in 1925 the 350cc two-stroke engine both with belt drive and drum brakes. From about 1926 the machines were equipped with JAP four-stroke engines with 198cc up to 496cc. Franzani catalogued the model KJ59 from 1926 – 1928. The difficult economic situation forced in 1928 to be limited to only one type of motorcycle. Then, but only a few, examples of the type FK59 were built with the three-valve, ohv 497cc engines designed by Richard Küchen. The sluggish sales forced the company to sell to Mr. Gottlieb Düll at 8 Schoppershofstrasse, Nürnberg, Germany. Under the new owner the production was continued under the name Franzani. While the FK59 remained in the range, the range was expanded by four additional models. The motorcycle range now also included models with 200cc, two with 300cc and one with 500cc displacement. With the expansion of the model range, the small motorcycle company overestimated itself. The Production had to be stopped in 1931.

This very rare unrestored motorcycle from Nürnberg is equipped the JAP KOY/C sport engine. It is a matching number bike. The numbers on the brass plate match the number on the frame and the engine. This beauty bears his first paint and is in unmolested and complete condition.
