Created in 1923 by Fritz Kleeman, whose background was in auto-racing, Horex were a successful pre-war producer with a respected reputation in racing. Their plant at Bad Homburg emerged relatively unscathed from WWII, inasmuch Horex machines were available many months ahead of their domestic rivals. At the same time they were the first firm supplying machines to the police and, more importantly, the first to obtain a License for manufacturing models larger than 250cc. From this breakthrough sprang the 350cc Regina; deliberately designed with longevity and reliability in mind. The 15 bhp single, which possesses a visual hint of Norton's pre-war ohc 'cricket bat' motor, sold in considerable quantities and, with updates, remained in production for a decade.

This bike has been restored some time ago and is in great shape.
