The firm was founded in Lyon in 1898 by Joseph Martin as a cycle firm. The French New-Map built a wide variety of proprietary engine motorcycles from the 1920s into the 1960s. Although the name would suggest otherwise, New Maps were French motorcycles. During the Great War the firm made wheels and various other parts for airplanes and rolling stock. The business grew rapidly and in the early twenties Joseph's son Paul took over and decided to start assembling motorcycles. The factory was active in motorcycle production from 1925 till the late 1950s and concentrated on assembling motorcycles with various types of engines. To name a few: Zurcher, JAP, Chaise, Blackburne, MAG, Ydral, AMC, Aubier et Dunne and Sachs. In 1933 the model range reach over 33 models. 5 of these models are fitted with MAG engines. OHV3 350cc ohv, OHV5 500cc ohv, M.T.3 350cc ioe, M.T.5 500cc ioe singles and the flag ship V-twin 750cc ioe. At this time the price of this M.T.7 was 6495 francs.

This ultra-rare and sturdy V-Twin New Map has been produced only for one year in 1933. It’s the first and only one in the complete model range with V-twin engine. It’s fitted with a Bosch MagDyno, Burman gearbox, O.S. clock, lighting set and Amac carburetor. Approx. 120 examples of this model has been produced. Furthermore it is notable MAG 750cc V-twin engines are very rare. A small number of these engines has been produced. It has been restored around 2007. This model M.T.7 was the top model with the largest displacement of the complete New Map model range. This M.T.7 has been restored with care years ago and is in excellent condition.
